CALLE Underground
by Daniel

Street Football News

Ever wished there was a site that would let you know where and when people were playing? Where to buy the latest gear? Who's dropping the hottest moves and on which court? Well all your waiting has come to an end with CALLE's release of there new website CALLEunderground.

Travis Winn and his team at CALLE have pieced together a website that allows you to do all this and more. You have your own profile on the site, can post when and where you are playing while also adding other members to your posse. Adding members to your posse enables you to know when that person will be playing CALLE, at what time, in which hood and what court they will be at.

Not only does CALLEunderground allow you to network with your fellow Callejero's but the site will also let you know when new CALLE gear is available and where you can get it!

CALLEunderground alerts you when any member of your posse posts a new thread. When I make a new video and upload it to youtube I post the link on CALLEunderground, so If your on the site, registered and added me to your posse you will be the first to know when my new moves go online.

So check it out and come say hello!

D10 teams up with CALLE!
by Daniel

Street Football News

Hello followers of Groundtrix.com,

First of all I would like to apologise for the recent in-activity and lack of new videos. We here at Groundtrix.com and myself have had to sort out a lot of behind the scenes work before we could go ahead and create more media. The good news is however that everything is now sorted and things will start to take shape! For instance the site will be under-going a few changes in the next few weeks and then some more changes in the next few months but don't fear as there will not be a sudden halt to videos, footage or media while these changes take place.

CALLE is the hottest new brand on the street soccer market, they have some really nice clothing and there very own street soccer ball. Travis Winn the president of CALLE is still a player himself and wanted to bring the skills, tricks and creativity of the streets to the American soccer market so you will be seeing a lot more of the CALLE logo from now on. Those of you wondering if I have left MOTG can rest easy, I'm still a MOTG master but CALLE is now the main partner of Groundtrix.com and myself.

So keep those forums active and for now check out the CALLE site at www.callesoccer.com and my latest video, D10 - the Callejero Down Under. When you open the site click on the section 'Experience', the video will be right in-front of you.

Thanks for your patience once again.

D10 is back from Amsterdam!
by Daniel

Street Football News

I'm back from Amsterdam and it was a fantastic two and a half months. I learn't so much from this trip that it's quite hard to put it all down in words, the sad thing however is that when I played there was nobody to film. In Holland everyone wants to play and I did not want to take my camera and leave it in my bag if there wasn't going to be someone to film, so the only footage that I do have of Amsterdam is the squares, the Masters of the Game office and some of 'Edje'.

For those who don't know 'Edje' he can be described in only one way "..the Tony Hawk of Streetfootball" I speak of none other than Edward van Gils, I had the opportunity to play 1v1 with him, train with him at ZVV Ter Beek the national league futsal team of Amsterdam and generally spend alot of time talking to him about street football, football and things in general. I got a chance to meet everyone but the two players that really helped me, were Edward as I mentioned and Lenny MacNack the PANNA K.O Champion of Holland for 2006. These two players taught me alot about body positioning, street football, football, the moves, why to use the moves, when to use the moves I could go on forever but it is something that you need to experience in order to understand it. No matter how many videos I make, how much I explain what I have learn't you can't fully grasp the concepts of streetfootball until you have been there, seen it and experienced it.

Edward and Lenny were constantly talking to me about how the streetfootball scene is now changing and in there minds not always for the better, they believe it has lost the winning mentality and become more about just doing tricks. This isn't streetfootball, streetfootball is exactly like normal football but with tricks. You still need to score, pass, have good decision making, be able to defend and above all win matches. There point being was there must be a product at the end of your moves otherwise they are useless. Streetfootball should act as a base for normal football and futsal, to improve skills and decision making.

I played alot when I was in Amsterdam but we didn't play every single day. I coped with the level well and I suprised alot of people, they automatically thought that I couldn't play because I was from Australia. I was also told that I have my own style and that went down very well with all the guys I played with, to some it was refreshing and to others I was a mix of dutch with something else but they couldn't explain it however I was told you need to have your own style in order to stand out from the rest so I didn't mind. Im not going to say who I gave pannas too or who I twisted about, I know it's the "in-thing" to run other players down and shame them out but that just isn't my style. Those players know who they are and I respect them as players so there is no need for me to comment on that.

I visited alot of different places along the way as well like Arnhem where I had a chance to meet Nick Ziernan, his friend Nick and Bjorn Boes a professional freestyler sponsored by Puma. We watched a demo of his outside a sportshop, he has a nice style and kept the crowd interested. Talking about meeting people, I came across and talked with alot of freestylers and streetplayers when I was in Amsterdam, few guys from SSD namely Stefan and Hamza. All the Monta streetplayers and of course all of the Masters of the Game players except for Lenny Netteb because he lives in Belgium and Moessie Rebel.

The experience was really good and one I will never forget, I will return in the new year as tour opportunities start to arise with Masters of the Game.
